Model 41's to broad to date

Our well known Standard Catalog of Smith&Wesson offers to broad a range to date model 41's as well as many others. I'm just asking the same age old question, what year my 41 #48009 was given birth, what year were 7 3/8" with muzzle breaks discontinued, what year were cocking indicators discontinued??? I'm sure I'll be sending Mr. Jinks a request form, but any information will be gladly welcome.

    Try asking that question on the "SMITH & WESSON FORUM.COM" I'm sure some of the Mod.41 folks will be glad to help you out...

    According to the SCSW, the 7 3/8 barrel and the cocking indicator were deleted during the late 70's time frame, approximately 1978.

    Along with the S & W forum, the Rimfire Central site has a active S & W board with many posters answering questions on the 41 & 46.
