12 gage guns with reduced recoil
I enjoy all kinds of shooting, as often as possible with my sons.
My old body complains much more now from an afternoon shooting skeet. My shotgun hunts are generally ducks & geese, rarely upland birds.
I'm still trying to allow myself to part with the cash for one of the Benelli soft shooters. What are the options and performance of any other softer shooters ?
As always - - thanks in advance

A 20ga with Kemen "low recoil" loads. Incredibly low recoil, even compared to 20ga field loads. 0 -
Many options and combinations:
barrel porting
Kick ease butt pad
Mercury recoil reducer in the stock
1 oz. light target loads
If an O/U: go to 28 ga. tubes
No need to buy a new gun.

If you want to stay with 12 ga. consider the autos with the long actions, like the Browning A5, Remington 11, and the Winchester 1300. Those all have very long recoiling actions and that absorbs a lot of the impact on your shoulder.
My bad. Disregard the reference to the Winchester. I was working two issues and got the two references mixed up. Instead, my other auto with a long recoil is a Remington Sportsman 48. It's action is darn near identical to the A-5 and the Rem-11, but has a tapered rear receiver instead of the square back. It's interesting to watch someone fire these long actions. You can see the entire barrel recoiling a couple of inches into the receiver as it cycles the action and dampens the recoil. Very nice. [:D]0 -

Winchester 1300 ?????
Pretty sure that is a pump.
A limbsaver or other type pad will help you out. ALOT.0 -
I found the Browning Gold and Silver auto loaders to be soft hitters. Purchased a used Silver and find myself leaving the 425 in the safe more often. Hope you find a soft shooter! 0
