First thing to do is have another experienced shooter fire the weapon. If it shoots 12" low for him or her, you need to change out your front sight. You could call Taurus and explain the problem, maybe they will send you a lower front sight for free. Are you using a 6 o'clock hold or are you holding dead center?

    +1.

If the gun is shooting CONSISTENTLY low but still printing good (ie small. . .4" or less) groups, then you have a problem with either your sight picture or your gun zero.

An experienced shooter should be able to put up a reproducible and standard sight alignment, and if they're also shooting low, then the problem is with the gun, not the shooter.

If you're hitting low then to fix the problem you'd need either a higher rear sight or a lower front sight.

i am an experanced shooter and have another gun that i can put 12 shots in a 4" target from 7 yards to 25 yards, i had my son shoot it and he also shot very low. if it shot high it would be easyer to deal with, right now i can hit at 25 yards a little gut can't hold them in a 6" target, i looked on line and couldn't come up with a sight that might be better, have you used a laser sight and if so would that fix my problem ?

    OK. . .

Before you do anything else here, what kind of sight picture are you using? If the gun has "dot" sights, they may be zeroed so that the dot is supposed to mark the spot of impact, rather than the top of the front sight blade, as is traditional with plain iron sights.

Try sighting a. At the top of the front sight dot (instead of the top of the sight blade) or b. at the CENTER of the front dot, and see how you do that way.

I suspect that this is the problem, actually.

Yes, assuming the gun is otherwise functional, you could install a laser sight and then use that to shoot with, though that presents its own set of issues. (which laser sight, how do you holster the gun with the laser, can you see the laser in bright daylight, etc).

Personally, I don't like laser sights very much, and would not consider one a suitable substitute for proper iron sights. What are you going to do when the laser battery runs out at a bad moment?

There aren't that many to choose from, but there are apparently some aftermarket sights that will either fit the 24/7 or can be made to fit. EG, you can have William's firesights fiberoptic sights installed:

If you know what you are doing, you can modify the existing fixed sight to shoot to any point of impact you like by sliding the rear sight in its dovetail right or left, and/or filing down the front or rear sight, as appropriate, though this is sort of an extreme measure.

it is so bad off that if i line up the back sight with the top of the barrel and not the front sight it still shoots 4"low, if i removed the front sight it would still be low, lol . i have had alot of guns but never seen one off that much, i am going to try and get bass pro shops to take it back but they said when i bought it that they had a no return thing on guns, if i can talk them into it i will trade it for an XD, if not i guess the next step is a gun smith, i read on some of these sites that people had returned them to tarus and it took a month to get them back and they were still not fixed, thanks for the input
