    It really depends upon the condition of the rifles. 87,000 Garands, if Service Grade or better would be significant. Rack Grades, though no longer available through the CMP, would be less interesting.

    The CMP is, however, basically out of all grades of M1 Carbines. 770,000 of them flooding the market, some of which one would think would have to be in fairly good condition, could be a real game-changer.

    Any lawmaker who does not support this should be voted out...

    -These guns represent jobs for the DCM which would receive and recondition and redistribute them after reconditioning.
    -Left where they are they can be used against our troops.
    -These are US rifles and belong to us taxpayers.

    The people are getting tired of DC fat cats throwing away our assets. This is another example of how they bankrupt our country.
