Something appears not quite right here. In the past, my experience has been that Paypal(owned by Ebay) has rejected any transaction involving firearms.
They may have recently changed their policy, but I'm unaware that they did.

Ebay has a policy regarding gun trades. Pay pal does not care it is a financial agent.

Not sure if you are in tune with this, but PayPal DOES care. They are extremely anti-gun. That is why there was created Gun-Pal. PayPal has been known to freeze accounts on both ends for a firearm transaction, that had large sums of money in them. My suggestion, is to buy no guns or ammunition with PayPal.

Paypal does allow guns and ammo to be sold using their service, BUT only thru a FFL store front dealer. No "kitchen table" sellers. Like so many other things , the dealer must jump thru hoops to use paypal for gun related items. Person to person use of paypal on gun items is a big chance to take. Bob

Paypal doesn't have to know it is related to firearms.
That is why many ads say "discrete Paypal accepted + 3.5%".

While I am the first one to admit that I hate stupid rules and laws, the above is like saying The Post office "doesn't need to know" you are shipping a pistol in a $10 flat rate box to a non-ffl. When you opened your paypal account, you accepted their terms. You entered into a legal contract. And they WILL lock down all your monies if you get caught. Then you have to fight to get the money from them. Bob

I have bought and sold guns and ammo using Pay-Pal with no problem. They don't have to know why you are sending money, just don't mention any thing gun related in the massage box.Pay-Pal addresses like gunsandgoodies, shooterssupply, ect might send up a red flag.I don't agree with their politics, but the guy I buy my gass from is a liberal, but his station is handy.I'm not at war with anybody.

For what its worth, Paypal has a list of restricted items.

Actual guns and ammo are on there, as are "some" gun-related accessories. (Which ones? see below).

Without resorting to hearsay, here is the ACTUAL policy:

    https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/AcceptableUse_full
    quote:
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

    1. violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation
    2. relate to sales of (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (d) items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime, (e) items that are considered obscene, (f) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (g) certain sexually oriented materials or services, or (h) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories, or (i) ,certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law
    3. relate to transactions that (a) show the personal information of third parties in violation of applicable law, (b) support pyramid or ponzi schemes, matrix programs, other "get rich quick" schemes or certain multi-level marketing programs, (c) are associated with purchases of real property, annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts funded by a credit card, (d) are for the sale of certain items before the seller has control or possession of the item, (e) are by payment processors to collect payments on behalf of merchants, (f), are associated with the following Money Service Business activities: the sale of traveler's checks or money orders, currency exchanges or check cashing,or (g) provide certain credit repair or debt settlement services
    4. involve the sales of products or services identified by government agencies to have a high likelihood of being fraudulent
    5. violate applicable laws or industry regulations regarding the sale of (a) tobacco products, or (b) prescription drugs and devices
    6. involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.

Note that Paypal is a little (and probably deliberately) vague about what constitutes parts and "accessories" here.

A gun stock is OK, but I'm pretty sure they are NOT OK with magazines.

I wouldn't try to pay for an AR-15 upper using Paypal, even though its NOT a "firearm" by any legal definition anywhere in the USA.

Gun barrel? Revolver speedloader? No idea.
