    They work but to me they are old school and ugly. The new internal screw in chokes are my first choice. E-bay gunparts often has full sets though I not sure of prices. If you can get it a good price I wouldn't let it bother me. 870 barrels are everywhere. What do you want it to do? Hunt, Trap or house defence?

    13 yr old first shotgun (deadly for dear with .243, just got a spike saturday 150yd dead where he stood) gonna try dove, quail, maybe if we can get back up north, some partridge and phesant. it's a 2-3/4 only, so not going to do ducks. He likes the look!(I think it's a "this gun has charecter" thing. It's an older gun and comes up nice...better feel than the new ones we have looked at....speaking of which, this one is $169.00.....basically $100.00 off the price of a new one.

    Any idea when this thing was made? I'm guessing 1950-70, but that's based on apperance (not a good basis).

    Might add here, the barrell is stamped Mod. and there is anothere stamp that looks like.....AYYT or AYY+.

    Thanks....hoping for a little more....;

    Sounds good price wise. The mod stamp indicates modified barrel choke which is a decent mid range set. Hard to be precise without a picture...
