The rifle was originally a Spanish Model 1943 Short Rifle, made in 1946 at the La Coruna arsenal.

Thanks Rufe. Is is still a mauser copy or is the 1943 short rifle something completely different? Still trying to narrow down what rifle I'm buying a trigger for...[:p]

Never owned one, but as far as I know the receiver and innards are a Spanish knock-off of the German 98 K.

Being it was rebarreled and sporterized years back no telling what was or wasn't done to it internally. Rather then aggravate yourself about the buying a trigger that might or might not work I would take to to a competent local gunsmith. Have him check it out thoroughly, headspace, and test fire, after putting in the correct replacement trigger.

The Spanish military Mausers never had the greatest reputation for quality of materials or workmanship. 22-250 is hot high pressure cartridge. Perhaps you should consider giving it a honorable retirement rather then putting a lot of money in it?

This is what a original 43 La Coruna Mauser looked like.
