Hello does any one have any experence adjusting(shrinking problem) Coltwood 1911a1 grips. I have three pairs needing stretching. I have herd of using boiling water to soften them but would like something with detail, step by step. HELP

I have had good luck heating them on a pizza stone until they are soft enough to become pliable. (Add heat slowly until the stocks become slightly soft.) With a template available that shows the correct hole spacing, and using gloves to avoid discomfort from the heat, I gently pull on the length of the stock panel until the hole spacing is correct. I then put the stocks on a waiting gun and the metal immediately pulls the heat out of the plastic to harden them in the proper length. If the holes are egg-shaped, be sure and push the holes back into a round shape while stretching the stock panels.
If you end up with a molten puddle of plastic, you got them too hot!0 -
Thank you very much!!! Sounds good. 0
