Ruger Blackhawk
Would a Blackhawk with the barrel marked "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty" be worth a premium over a standard blackhawk?

Current manufacture 44 Mag Blackhawk. Will be loading/shooting hard cast, lead bullets. What is the barrel twist rate and what weight bullets will shoot most accurately with that twist rate? Thanks! 0 -
old models are asembled with screws, new models with pins.
old models operate like a colt, you put it on half cock to free up the cylinder. On new models opening the loading gate frees up the cylinder,no half cock on those.
old models no transfer bar,new models all have t bars.
that is off the top of my head, there may be more. I"m sure there is.0 -
Mort has the basics down. "Old Model", "3" screws, more Colt like, load 5 chambers, keep the tube under the hammer open, etc.
"New model", pins replace screws and transfer bar ignition system makes carry with all chambers loaded "safe".
In addition, as alluded to with the Vacquero, when the New Model was introduced Ruger went to a single frame size for both the Super Blackhawk (.44 Mag.) and the .357 Blackhawk.
The "NewNew" Blackhawk .357's have returned to the earlier, smaller frame, while keeping the new lockwork.0
