applying a camo finish to a gun

i ve heard about a film you can apply to a stock or barrel assembly it is water based does anyone know anything about this type of application or is it just as easy to buy a painting kit to do the same thing the painting kits i saw require an air brush for application any help would be appreciated thanks hank k

  The process can be referred to as 'Hydro Graphics' or 'Water Transfer Film' camouflage. It's quite a process really and very reasonably priced as opposed to original painting of a stock by a good air brush person.
  
  I have used it with great results on several lower priced custom rifles where the price point was a controlling factor. It has held up well on the one that I did as a test and loaner rifle. The drawback, if you want a negative, is that it's not a home based process in that you could do it in your kitchen. It requires some specialized equipment and training to apply.
