44 caliber shotgun

If you know any thing about this caliber being used in a shotgun I'd appreciate hearing from you. Is the round a slug? How does a .44 round compare with a shotgun gauge? Thanks.

    can .410 bore rounds be fired in a .44 cal shotgun? can inserts be used to fire .410s? thanks

    the 44 shot gun is based on the 44-40 case

    And - the .44XL original casing length is shorter than the 2.5" .410 bore.

    And so is the .410. I think the eglish still make .44-40 shot capsuls. Not sure I would trust putting a .410 in the gun nor do I recommend even though it may work. A picture or a even a manufature or model number would be very helpful.
