I cannot say about all the parts but I know for certain several of the parts are caliber specific. I have 4 1892's, two originals and two remakes. One of the remakes is a 357, all the others are 44-40. If someone does not respond with the specifics I can take a look and see on the remakes what looks different. I know the right and left cartridge guide are specific as well as the end of the bolt that makes contact with the brass. The lever, trigger assembly, locking lugs should be interchangeable and I dont know why the loading gate would not be but I am not positive on that one. One of my 92's was a trashed one that was totally redone and it looks like all the parts on and in the receiver are new. Someone put in cartridge guides from two different calibers and it would not cycle so they dumped the gun. I know I payed less than they spent on the barrel! Good luck on putting together the best gun winchester ever made!

Hey I was just looking through some of the adds and someone is parting out a 92. Do a search for 1892, the top will show how many listings there are for guns, books, parts etc. Just link to the parts and you will go right to it. It appears from this mans listing that all the receiver parts will work for the 38-40 and the 44-40.
