Colt 1911a1 NM MKIII

Colt made a 1911A1 Gold Cup .38 Special wad cutter gun designated MKIII as listed in the blue book. However Colt made two barrel changes to the auto. When is apered on the market the barrer hood was marked Colt .38 SPEC. N.M. this barrel proved inadequate, so they made a change and headspaced it off the mouth insted of the rim it was marked Colt .38 SPEC. N.M. MKII. This proved inadeqaute as well so the threaded the chamber and marked it Colt .38 N.M. MKIII.
My question is does amybody have or seen a Colt mid-range with the barrel markings Colt .38 SPEC. N.M. MKII????? If so on the second part of this question can you provide a picture and a serial number range? Enquiring mindes want to know!

there were actually 4 different barrels the 4 type had a large diameter muzzle but was also marked MK III. I can't find out what serial number was at the barrel change but the sight was changed from
Colt Accro to Colt ELLIASON in 1964 about serial number 4800-NMR. so if you have an ACCRO sight on your pistol it should not have a MK III barrel.0 -
Yes yes I know there are 4 barrels with the last being experimental that is why I did not bring that one up. If a MKIII were to have such a barrel it would have an X prefix added to the serial number. 0
