Need Savage 99 Takedown info
I have a 99 takedown that I am considering to list on Gunbroker but I need some info first. Serial number is 290126 which comes back as 1924 on an internet search but I was told several years ago it was made in 1927? I was also wondering what the correct model letter would be, it is chambered in 22 high power and has the 410 barrel. I also have the Marbles 22HP to 22LR adapter cartridge. Also wondering how much I might be able to expect for this package as that will likely determine whether or not I list it. The stock and forearm are original but have been refinished, has newer butt pad as well. Hope you can help me out, I would appreciate any info, thanks. Link is to view picture of rifle.

Manufactured in 1926. Refinished and with an unoriginal butt pad detracts from its desirability as a takedown. There is a lot of regional variation on the pricing of 99s, but in my part of the world it would take a while to find a buyer at $450. 0 -
Thanks He Dog - you mean possibly 450 just for the rifle correct? I know that there is a "not too pretty" 410 barrel selling on Gunbroker right now for 600, what does a good example normally go for along with the Marbles cartridge adapter? Thanks again... 0 -
I'm no 99 expert, but I would think you could get more than that for the whole kit and kaboodle. If your going to sell it, put it up with no reserve, it will bring what it's worth. Make sure that you let us know if you put it on Gunbroker! 0
