How do I sell that which I know very little about?
I have several guns I want to sell but I don't know exactly what to call them. I don't even know what to ask for as far as a price is concerned. Do I upload photos and let people tell me what kind of guns I have and let them tell me what to price them at? I have tried to research them but I have found nothing on three of the ones I have. I have two that are marked well and look fairly new. One a Mossberg Model 144 with a 130 rear sight. One is a Marlin Model 782. I have two very old early 1800's percussion double barrel shotguns (one is marked W & C Scott & Sons) and the other comes apart and has the number 12 with many other symbols on the barrel. Then I have a Percussion pistol with the spring on the outside. I also have two very old Daisy BB guns and an 1894 J. Stevens A & T Co. 22 Long Rifle. I also have two other unidentified percussion shotguns. Anyway, how do I know what to the call them and what to list the price of them as? Thanks.

Welcome to the Gunbroker forums!
The best method for identification is to take some properly illuminated, sharp photographs of each firearm. There should be overalls and details, especially of the condition and the proof marks on the firearms.
You don't have to tackle all of them at once, just try one then improve and do the rest.
There is a 'Sticky' at the top of this forum titled 'Posting Photographs' which will help you use a picture host and get the photographs on this forum.

Well, I will do my best to list all of the guns I have for sale on this sight. I have no clue how to do this. I am familiar with Ebay and hope selling on this sight will be similar. I also have a Japanese 99 with a type 30 bayonet. Do I just start everything out at 1 dollar like Ebay? How long should I let a listing go for? I am going to look on here and see how to sell things. I suspect there is a fee as well. 0 -

There are no up front fees for simply listing an item, but if you want special in your listing features then there are additional charges. The key to a good listing is exactly what nononsense told you: High quality photos. Frankly, nothing sells very well without photos and the better your photos the better your chances of getting top dollar for your items. Getting an auction listing set up is not nearly as tough as it appears to be so just go for it!0 -

Maybe there is some confusion.
There are two parts to Gunbroker:
1) The Gunbroker Auction side where you list your firearms for sale and write the ad illustrated with photographs.
2) The Gunbroker Forums (ta da!) right here where we are now.
While both sides are related in that Gunbroker owns both sides, the two sides function separately with independent registration and log in.
Here in Ask the Experts we generally answer questions such as yours regarding the values and identification of firearms. There are also technical question which get fielded here as well.
When I suggested posting photos, it was for just one of the unknown firearms to get you started with the process of taking pictures, getting them hosted and posting them in a thread here. With your pictures posted here on Ask the Experts forum, there is a much better chance for the members to assist with the identification. You might run through some of the previous threads to get a feel for the process.
