    The FBI NICS division told me that Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducts the NICS check for FL dealers, anyone have info on this?

    I must have missed something in that post. Why did you ask how to sign up for the NICS check service if you already knew that you cannot use it? Contact the Florida DOJ for instructions.

    In some states, the background check is done by the state, not the Feds. Virginia has an instant check system before the Fed system, and we kept it. Florida same.
