    i do not believe you have to worry about smokeless versus black powder in any of the U.S. Revolver Co. handguns in 22 caliber. the 22 rimfire caliber was such a low production in the safety automatic line i do not believe there were any left over parts to be used. the solid frame model 1900 (on which the u.s. revolver co. double action is based)was enough of a high volume seller i doubt any left over parts in that line.

    my personal belief is all U.S. revolver co. products in 22 rimfire were made of new parts no left over parts at all. the production of the 22 rimfire most likely did not begin until 1911.

    Thank you Mr. Goforth. As usual, you have displayed your expertise on these great old handguns. Two quick followups - is anyone making modern over-sized replacement grips to fit the IJ 1900 frame revolvers, and where can we purchase a copy of your books?

    siles grips used to offer grips for these revolver. i haven't seen are heard any thing about them lately though.
