Winchester model 1905 barrel steel question
Do any of you winchester gurus know for sure if the barrel is nickel steel? Some sources say yes, others say no. But I had always thought that all winchesters designed for smokeless powder had nickel steel barrels.

Yes, the barrel on your Model 1905 is nickel steel. Nickel steel was used until 1932, when it was replaced by Proof Steel. 0
