Savage ML10 Smokeless

My gun tunes in with 65.8 grains of Vihtavuori 120 shooting Hornady FTX 45 cal .452 250 grain GRFTX bullet. Winchester 209 primer. 1 inch group at 100 yds. Is this load safe to shoot. This load seems high to me. Most of the guys at the range shoot lower loads in the mid 50s with a few as high as 68 grains. Need help.

    I shoot N110 in my Savage, I never have tried the N120. I am shooting the 250 SST.
    I know that most of the guys on the Savage forum who use 120 use it with the 300 grain or bigger slugs.

    Your concern is that 68 gr. may be too hot with the 250 gr. slug?

    You've got the best dang muzzleloader ever built and Allen pointed you to the best site for information about the Savage. You'll find just about everything you need to know about the Savage over there. I use N110 in mine and try different bullets every year, it becomes an obsession and even though it puts a thumping on the ol' shoulder they are still fun to shoot and tweak on. Good Luck.
