help with markings

Hi, I have an officers fusil dated from 1780. on the butt is the mark
3 over DCG the D is reversed.
as anyone any idea what this mark stands for, thanks. michael

  Show us a picture, I LIKE fusils and fowling pieces. No heavy Kaintuck for me.
