Any suggestions on what to use to repair a gouge in gunmetal? Something that can be blued would be preferred.

  Restorers weld and mill to original contours. Seems to be the best way.

  Any attempt would require a large portion of experienced skills.
  Anything cosmetic might best be left alone as 'character', instead of making it look worse.

  There is no Epoxy that will taking blue that I know of.Welding is the only way I know and then you have to match the alloy of the GUNMETAL to get the blue to match Brownells sell many different kinds of spray on coatings but it will NOT look like the gun is Blued.
