ar15/m16 charging handles

What are the correct types of COLT GI charging handles for 1967-1970 m16a1 rifles? Are they milled or forged...or both? I don't expect to find an original, so I am looking at the replacements on GB..Some say forged, and some say milled.. Which would be most [USGI]correct??

  Forged
  
  However for that age of rifle, the charging handle will be a "triangular" charging handle if you want a more correct version.

  Than your standard "forged" charging handle will be the closest thing to correct.
