Winchester Md 1903 Nickel plated.
I have this Winchester Model 1903 and I am no expert on spotting fakes or refinishing work. The gun is nickel plated and I know that was an option from Winchester on some of their models. The wood is in good condition but again I am no expert on spotting refinishing jobs. The bore is excellent. I have inquired with the Cody records on just how to get it papered. Thought I would post the photos here so you could give me your best judgement on the gun.
Thanks, Kevin Bryant

IMHO save your money in trying to get a letter. I may be wrong "will not be the first time" but to me wood looks like it was heavily sanded long ago and the roll stamp bottom line under the word WINCHESTER looks smeared from heavy buffing. YMMV 0 -
Okay, it's been sanded, hard, and most likely an aftermarket chrome or nickel plating done on it. It's an obsolete caliber so it's not a shooter. I always try to start my auctions at the minimum a gun may be worth. So whats it worth? 0 -
Hello Sir I always list my auctions starting as low as possible. The more people that are bidding the higher the price will end up. Lets ay you have a gun worth $200.00 your starting price is $200.00 you get two bidders one at $200.00 and one at $205.00 then all other LOOKERS say OK only 2 people interested . But you start at $100.00 and most likely you will get 5 or more bidders and the same Two will bid more then once when these two get up to $205.00 the others will say . Man there may be more people wanting this Item I think I will bid one more time ending sale price is higher. YMMV 0 -
The serial number is too high to have it lettered or researched. That said, it would have been a waste of time & $$, as that rifle was nickel plated after the fact (and most likely, in very recent times).
Based on the fact that it is not factory original, and the stocks have been heavily sanded and refinished, and it is an obselete cartridge (no "shooter" value), I would be really surprised if it sells for more than $150.0 -
That pretty much tells me what I need to know. Thanks! 0 -

Overpriced tomatoe stake. Someone is going to be very disappointed tonight.0 -
$450 would be within shooter value for a .22 that functions well, has a great bore, and not in beater condition. 0 -

Not for a Model 1903 in 22 Win Auto... ammo for it is extremely hard to find.0
