T/C Encore Accuracy expectations
I have T/C encore endeaver.....50 cal muzzleloader barrel shoots very well but new barrel in .300 win mag won't group!!! I have very good B&L elite scope on it and have tried several different factory loads....it will group inside 1.5 moa with one group and then next group will be 3 or 4 inches!!!

The Encore is capable of great accuracy. I shot a lot of groups with one in the .250 inch range.
Please explain how your gun goes from 1.5 to 4 inches, is this at the same range session? Is it different ammo? 1.5 inches is acceptable for a factory barrel.0 -
I think you should expect 1.5 MOA or better with ammo it likes. I bought a new 7mm Rem Mag Encore barrel and it would not do better than three or four inch groups. Tried two scopes just to be sure it wasn't the scope and mounts and several different loads including handloads without improvement. Then called TC and they told me to send it in. . .and a couple weeks later I got a new barrel from TC. No explanation as to what the problem was but the new barrel shoots in to an inch or so with loads it likes. If you've cleaned it well, made sure the scope and mounts are good, and tried several different loads I'd say its time to talk to TC. In my experience they're very good about supporting their products. One other thought, are you letting the barrel cool some between groups? I have several rifles that will shoot to 1/2 inch MOA if you let the barrel cool between shots but won't stay inside three inches when hot. 0 -
The Encore is capable of excellent accuracy. It's a light rifle and can beat the shooter up a bit in 300 Win Mag, I would make certain everything is socked down tight to include the scope and rings. I've not found the Encore to be especially sensitive regarding forend fit but obviously it should be tighted down well.
Mike Bellm's website has lots of info on the gun, might take a lokk there0
