WW1 German automatic pistol
I have an old GermanWW1 pistol that was my father's. He died 1973 and Mom gave it to me. It has FL on grips and Selbslater (sp) on it. Someone told me it meant self loader. It is 32 cal. Back in '74 I thought I'd clean it up and found the sear was broken.Couldn't find parts then so I put parts in box and put it away where it sat for 36 yrs. Couple months ago I thought about it and since I now have computer, I searched and found a new sear. It took quite a while to install as it was just a bit too big and I had to file the end and each time I filed some I had to put sear back in to see the fit. Had to be careful not to file off to much or it probably would not work. Anyway, it works great now. Unusual feature of this pistol is that the recoil spring is on top and barrel is on bottom. It is in really great shape for its age. Anyone have an idea of its worth? I don't think it is worth very much, but it has sentimental value to me.

Sorry, I left out some info. I found it was made by Fritz Lengenham between 1915-1918. 0 -
You have a pretty good handle on what it is and they show up pretty regularly. I have a couple and the value varies between $150 and $250 currently.
All the gun scribes warn you not to shoot them because the pivoting bolt lock can loosen and swing up to allow the bolt to fly back in your face.
Ian Hogg wrote an excellent piece on the FL in his German Handguns. I shoot mine too, but be very aware of the hazard and check the knurled nut often.0
