Colt New Army 1917?
I have a Colt New Army which I would like to find some info about. It is Nickel plated and has Franzite bakelite type grips. The frame ser # is 1856XX w a small H over the # and the letter M and 729 below it. On the cylinder arm is ser # 1858XX w 2414 under it. The horse emblem is not visible on the side plate. On the bottom of the barrel, United States Property is barely legible and the # 729 is stamped next to it. the printing on top of the barrel is barely legible. On the side of the frame in front of the hammer is a small circle with what looks like a JMF or JMT with the letters all joined. The gun is overall about 60-70%. I would appreciate any info including value. Thanks

1917?
Is it a .45 or .38?
A New Army is a pre WW I .38.
Proofhouse.com says 1902.
Mismatch of numbers between frame and crane indicate repair with parts salvaged off another gun or just a mixup at the armory or gunsmith's.
Worn nickel plate and plastic grips greatly reduce resale value.0 -
It would be best for you to post photos of any gun you are asking about. See the "posting photos" sticky near the top of the first page of the forum.

Here is what a original condition, Colt Model 19021903, New Army revolver looks like. If yours was in this condition, it would be worth some bucks to a collector. Being it's been bubbaed, so extremely, per your description, it's value would be at best would be marginal, IMHO.
