  min 1500 to 2000 as long as it's not a salt gun

  Agree that it ought to be worth $1500 to $2000+. However, now is not the best time to be selling shotguns with the economy still weak. In the current market $1200 may be a more realistic price. Your friend might want to wait a while before selling if he has that option.
