turn the bolt handle upright and back then the screw in the lug connecting the two parts of the bolt is removed. Now rotate the head of the bolt only this will allow you to remove the back half straight back and then simply life out the front half of the bolt. 0 -
I gave detailed instructions on your posting about the Lebel. If you haven't seen that yet. If by chance you have both a Lebel and a Berthier, the bolt removal is the same. 0 -
Be very careful about one little thing - first, please specify exactly what kind of "Lebel" rifle you have. Is it the 1886 Lebel with the tubular magazine, or the07/15 berthier 3 shot, or the m16 Berhier 5 shot?
The reason i ask, is because on the bolt head of the 1886 Lebel, there is a small semi-circular piece (name which escapes me at the moment). This piece is form fitted to the bolt head and is a moving part. It is never meant to be taken off after it was assembled when it was first manufactured. If removed in a not very careful manner, this piece will break, and you will have a unfirable rifle. This piece is not found on the Berthier bolts.
I will come back when I have found the name of this piece.0
