Do you mean a Ruger Single Sixconverted to 41 special?

    Hamilton Bowen has done that.
    It isn't cheap.

It may not be cheap but it would be pretty neat to own.

There is a picture of one at:

No details about gunsmithing or loads, though.

Sorry, yes it was a single six, not single shot.

I believe you mean "single action". Probably on a Blackhawk frame as the Single Six wouldn't be able to take the punishment.

It wasn't the Blackhawk frame, it was smaller. Almost positive it was the single six frame...that was what so amazing.

Could have been an old 3 screw frame, like Skeeter used to make 44 specials out of.

USN Airdale...if you look closely the .41 is very cleanly stamped compared to the rest of the lettering...it was custom made and clearly is a single six frame...thank you for the picture.

I just got off the phone with a friend on mine and his Father. The both of them are now retired from Ruger and both said no way did Ruger Manufacture a .41 Spl. on a Single Six frame. My friend was in charge of the Finishing Dept. His Father was a Tool and Die Maker with Ruger for 33 years starting in 1955.In fact he said that the picture shows a different type of cut in the cylinder for the lock up. [:)]

According to the Bowen site, they mark the gun to in a style emulate the factory markings. Also, I think the only place Ruger placed caliber markings was on the barrels.
