Most Acurate Surplus Rifle
Hi guys, which rifle of these 3 do you think is the most accurate and comfortable to shoot? The M-39 Finnish Nagant, the Swiss K-31, or the Swedish Mauser? I imagine the Yugo 24 isn't in the same class, is it? Thanks for looking.[:p]

The Swedes modified some of their Mausers into fine target rifles complete with upgraded sights, but "off the rack" I suppose I'd go with the K31. 0 -
Not only do you have 3 different guns but also 3 different calibers. With hand loading I am guessing you could do quite well with each. With "factory" ammo I would give it to the K-31 from what I have heard.
I have 4 Nagants and my 91/30 and 91/30 with clone sniper scope on it both do very well with 147gr surplus ammo. One of these days in my free time I will try some hand loading for them.0 -

A good condition Swedish 96 is hard to beat. 0 -
I'd go with the Swiss K31.
I'm sure you could Get the Fin nagant shooting pretty fair too though, if it is in good condition.0 -

+1.
Edit:
Note that differences in costs associated with shooting the various guns will go down considerably if you reload for them.0 -
Well, this wasn't on your list, but I have an Ishapore Enfield 2A in 7.62 mm NATO that I really like. Ammo will always be available.

M1 Garand is extremely accurate and 06 ammo is infinite... 0 -
I have an arsenal refinished Yugo 24/47 that is like brand new and shoots great groups for it's type of sights. My take in general is only buy surplus rifle in better conditions and you should get pretty good accuracy. None of these rifles would have gone to war if they didn't shoot straight for the most part. One of my favorite hunting rifles is a sporterized Burno M98 that has been rechambered for 8mm-06. Sure it is a hand loading only cartridge but it easily holds a minute and a half groups. 0 -
Markus,
Actually, if you read the Match reports from the Military Only matches you see that the Swedish M96 dominates all categories. In every case though, the rifle is only a part of the equation. The shooter is still the biggest variable.
