16 ga german pinfire H. Raithel
I have a 16 ga pin fire shotgun made by Hermann Raithel in Schorndorf Germany. Is there any information on him and his Guns? ANY info will be Appreciated Thanks Larry Donath

Nothing in my standard reference. Being Pin Fire it would probably date it no later then the 1870's.
You might try a GOOGLE search for the two large on-line shotgun collectors forums. Best that I can remember their names were something like "Shotgun World" and "Double Gun Journal". Do to the legal restrictions on firearms in Europe, the collecting of shotguns is much more popular over there then on this side of the pond. Because of this a number of very knowledgeable European dealers and collectors frequent the above two forums.0 -
Not much, Heer, "Der Neue Stockel" list Raithel in Schorndorf as a gunmaker circa 1845. No first name so this could be Hermann.
