The Star over letter proof is a standard Belgian Proof Mark that denotes the inspector who passed the pistol. Each Belgian inspector was identified by a specific letter.

The Brit Proof Mark(s) are required for used guns sold through commercial sale. It could have been used by the British cops, no telling without any specific markings besides the PM though?

Thank you Rufe. I have had this fo9r a good number of years and am down sizing my collection. Time for this one to go to a gun show with me today. It and a Remington 51 in 7.65 are being down sized. Time to blame it on the economey!!![;)] I do not have the money to buy yet a 4th gun safe![B)]
