From "Firearms Assembly - Pistols and Revolvers", an invaluable reference source, by NRA Publications:
Remove the magazine & empty the chamber. Then push the slide back far enough to align the cut in the slide with the head of the barrel lock pin. Push on the end of the pin to start it & pry out with a screwdriver. Pull back the slide again & pull the muzzle of the barrel forward. This will release the slide/barrel from the receiver. To reassemble, push the slide assy back on the receiver until it is stopped by the disconnector. Pull the trigger, depress the disconnector, & the slide can be pushed into final position.

After lifting out the breechblock, examine it for cracks.
You will appreciate Pederson's genius in minimizing weight of all parts by machining away unnecessary metal.
The novel, screwless takedown is also well thought out.
By incorporating a delayed opening breech he was able to lighten and thin the slide over the many contemporary straight 32 & 380 blowback models like the Colt, Savage,Beretta, Walther, Browning Water Pistol etc.
The grip shape and pointability of this pistol is unmatched.0
