how much do you take off a 98 Mauser barrel to go one
full turn?

  Approximately 0.083" for one turn. Divide 1 by the number of threads, which is 12 in this case, and this yields the one full turn dimension.

  If I were doing the job, I think I'd take off a little less and try the bbl on the receiver..then sneak up on the final cut. (two-cents?)

  Remember that on the 98 mausers you have a primary and secondary shoulder to trim off.
