adjusting scopes
When I look through my scope with out my glasses it is slightly blurry but when I wear my glasses its so sharp. Is there away to adjust my scope to accommodate my eyes so that it will be sharp with no glasses. I wont wear my glasses when hunting.

Is there a focus ring on the rear occular of the scope?
One way is to put then gun in a stable place and look through the scope, cover the non shooting eye, and turn the Focus ring until the image is crisp and clear.0 -

Most scopes have a adjustable eyepiece, and they usually have a lock ring on them. Most new ones come with the European type with out the locking ring, and are easier to adjust in a hurry.... You should have no problem setting either for your eyes...... 0 -

The rear adjustment (ocular) is to focus the cross hairs (not the image). Of course since the front lens (objective) normally focuses the image near/onto the cross hairs also.......
Why not wear your glasses when hunting (or are yours only for reading)? As I need mine for distance, I keep them on all the time.0 -
+1 Tailgunners comment on focusing the crosshair. When I set up a new scope I go outside and adjust the crosshairs until they are sharp when I throw the gun to my shoulder and view an open sky. Might just be me, but I don't get as good results if I try to steady the rifle and sight on some distant object. Your eyes can compensate a bit, but it only adds strain and poorer results in the long run. 0 -
The bell on the front of most scopes is for adjusting parallax, which is for focusing the reticle to correct the sight plane, variances caused by looking through the scope is why this is needed.. It also focuses in the image, but that is secondary.
On most scopes with a factory set Parallax, there will be a focusing ring at the rear of the ocular for focusing the image to an individual users eye. sometimes the ocular itself is turned to focus in the image.
Parallax adjustment is most precise and benificial when it is done on the target you intend to be shooting.0 -
If you value your eyesight, you're supposed to be wearing shooting glasses when you shoot anyway.

The problem is your eyes not your scope. I wear bifocals which don't work well with scopes. I had a pair made with the bifocal section of my right (dominant) eyd in the left corner of the lens rotated 90 degrees from the normal, so flat is to the right rather than on top. Works perfectly for me, but does cost a little to have a dedicated pair of glasses.
The focus adjustment on the scope is as stated above to bring the reticle into sharp focus, not to focus the scope for your eyes. If you have astigmatism it could not correct for that anyway.
I have found I can have glasses made for specific speical uses, like shooting with a scope or shooting with iron sights, neither easy for me with bifocals or no glasses.0
