hi glosss factory finish

Hi what is the most likely hi gloss factory finish? Can I assume its poly based? I need to touch up.

  The most likely factory finish is "proprietary". (That means they won't tell you because they don't want the competition to find out & duplicate it.)
  
  I have had poor results trying to repair both Remington & Browning's hi-gloss finishes. And, I'm still hoping to come up with a fool-proof method to fix all of them.

  I'm not 100% positive, but I believe Browning, Remington, Weatherby, and surley others use an epoxy finish. After refinishing 100's of stocks, I have found that "touching up", is nearly impossible, and will be very visible, and "UGLY". I will only do a complete refinish any-more. Good Luck HAWKSHAW
