Western Marshal 44 mag
Would anyone know a value for this 6" revolver. The condition is 90 to 95 percent. No holster wear, very little cylinder wear and good grips. matching numbers, 348xxx. It is obvious this gun was fired infrequently, but well taken care of.
Thank You.
P.S. Thumbnail Challenged! For the life of me, can't figure out how to get these to post any other way.

Western Marshal was a Trade Name used by the Hawes Co. They were a firearms importer/distributor located in S. Calif. during the 60's/70's time frame.
They sold both German and Italian made single action revolvers. The difference can be discerned by the different type of proofmarks on the revolver.
In either case the value wouldn't be as great as a Ruger single action revolver in the same condition. My guessmate is that your looking at 2/3's to 3/4's of the auction value of a Ruger Black Hawk in comparable condition.0 -
My copy of the Gun Trader's Guide is a few years old, but lists the Sauer Western Marshall in .44 Mag at $230 (for excellent condition). Allowing for inflation, probably closer to $300. None of the Hawes revolvers seem to be high dollar items. 0 -
Thanks Gents,
I appreciate your imput...I bought the gun. Your estimate on the value was right in line with the asking price and again this site is invaluable to folks like myself.
