The barrels need to be sleeved

I'm considering buying a shotgun and the seller says the barrels need to be sleeved. I asked him what he means by this and he says ask a gunsmith.

What does it mean when someone says a shotgun needs to have the barrels sleeved?

    IT 'USUALY' MEANS THE BARRELS ARE NOT SHOOTABLE WITH SMOKELESS POWDER (DAMASCUS STEEL) AND NEED TO BE SLEAVED TO A SMALLER GAUGE TO BE USABLE.

    Move away from this. If he won't back up his statements, and blows you off to someone else without a hint of what he meant buy what he just stated, [the firearm notwithstanding], it's the personality he exibited that I would not want to have any further dealings with.

    I believe Givette has the right Idea .If this seller is a jerk before he gets your money What do you think he will be like after you PAY him Run don't walk away from this deal a Sleeved barrel Shotgun will be Heavy . Tell him to f off and if he "asks what do you mean" be Nice to Him and tell Him.

    I could just read in the picture that the barrels are laminated steel.
