Hi - am restoring a Model2 and plan on fitting the Winchester solid
red rubber pad; however, the pad is about 3/16" long. How do I cut the pad down keeping the sides looking smooth. I'm thinking fine grit sandpaper might do it. Any ideas? Thanks......

Brownells is pretty good about listing dimensions, here's an on line example: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=18220/Product/LIMBSAVER_trade__GRIND_TO_FIT_PADS

i am going out on a limb and assume that you have the factory plastic stock. #1 i would junk the stock and call H-S PRECISION and order a stock with the length of pull that you want.#2 you will have a stock that will compliment the rifle you have and more than likely shoot better. just my 2 cents.

Call Brownells with the dimensions and they will tell lyou the thickest pad available. I think it is 1 5/8". It will almost certainly have to be fitted.
