Recoil pad fitting
I have a Rem Model 7, 7mm Saum, SS, black stock. I would like to install a thicker and "softer" recoil pad.
The Limbsaver 10112 is way to short. With the factory pad off the measurements are:
5 1/8 tall
1 1/2 wide(strong)
3 1/4 mounting holes
Any ideas as to a pre-fit type that would fit with minimal trimming. I would like to add .25-.5" to the length of pull. I always felt the "short mags n SAUM" were built on too small of stocks.

Hi - am restoring a Model2 and plan on fitting the Winchester solid
red rubber pad; however, the pad is about 3/16" long. How do I cut the pad down keeping the sides looking smooth. I'm thinking fine grit sandpaper might do it. Any ideas? Thanks......0 -
Brownells is pretty good about listing dimensions, here's an on line example: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=18220/Product/LIMBSAVER_trade__GRIND_TO_FIT_PADS 0 -
i am going out on a limb and assume that you have the factory plastic stock. #1 i would junk the stock and call H-S PRECISION and order a stock with the length of pull that you want.#2 you will have a stock that will compliment the rifle you have and more than likely shoot better. just my 2 cents. 0 -
Call Brownells with the dimensions and they will tell lyou the thickest pad available. I think it is 1 5/8". It will almost certainly have to be fitted. 0
