Star 1921in 9mm / 38?
Please see attached pics. Serial number 11162. Is this a 1921 model? Any thoughts on value? Am I right that this shoots 9mm largo but not 38 Super?

Had trouble tracking one that seemed to match on the auction side but this one might? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=187319549
As well as this one: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=189891918
Am I right that these are close?
Any thoughts or help appreciated[:)].

Not sure what the 38 signifies but your pistol is not rated for 38 super ammo. 0 -
NOT .38 SUPER because it will blow up your gun!
The 38 means .38 AUTO
.38 AUTO, 9mm largo, 9mm bergman bayard, are the same or close enough to be considered the same.0 -
The .38 refers to the .38 Colt Auto of 1900 that was souped up by about 30% to become the .38 Super in 1929. A lot of the later Spanish guns have been shot with Supers (I am not sure that is smart, but it has been done.) but I sure would not hammer this older model with them. 0 -
It's a later version of the Model A, with a grip safety. Not common at all. Unfortunately besides the replacement grips, yours has been refinished, this would have a negative affect on it's collectors value. 0 -

Thanks Rufe, what indicates to you that it has been re-blued? I thought the grips might have been wrong, I also found a small crack (noticeable in the first pic) on the slide in between the extractor and the ejection port. Any thoughts on value? $150.00-200?0 -
Looks like blue OVER little pits and dings, sign of a reblue.
A crack in the slide.
Set screw marks on the trigger from a trigger shoe.
Maybe a previous owner WAS shooting .38 Super in a gun not built for it.
Value is zilch. The gun is worn out.0 -

On the left hand side of the slide below the logo there appears to be pitting that has been blued over.
Unless you can find a collector of Spanish handguns who would want it? Probably a rough pistol to sell. The cracked slide doesn't sound positive. More then likely .38 Super was shot in it.0 -
Thanks guys, that helps a lot, as always GB comes through.[:)] 0
