B&L was bought out by bushnell in the mid 80's . You have a superb scope [;)] 0 -
The front of the scope is loose?
As in on the rifle? inside the rings? Or is a part of the scope itself is moveing somehow?
B&L scopes are very good quality, I have a couple of them made under the Bushnell Elite logo.0 -

Sorry, it is not clear what you are saying is loose.
The B&L scopes pre-Bushnell were among the best of their era, with very good glass, but not such great lens coatings (which came later). After Bushnell bought B&L they remained quite good, with quality lens coatings. It should be a quality, durable scope.0 -
I can see that the front ajustment where you turn the screw to move the scope L and has has some attachment and the movement is where ? meets the screw that goes across the base. did that help or did I make it worse 0 -
I am assuming you have the earlier B & L Scope with the adjustments in the mounts and not in the tube. These came in two type ring assemblies. The earlier one had a spring loaded plunger. This type was removed from the mounts by pulling the scope back, depressing the plunger, until the front flat metal bar cleared the pin (axle?) in the adjustment screw. It then could be tilted and the scope and ring assembly removed from the base.
The later type ring assembly was held to the base by a horozontal bar that went under the cross pins and was tightened to the scope by means of a nut that had four wings by which it was rotated. This nut looked somewhat like a four bladed airplane propeller.
The beauty of this mounting system was that the scope could be zeroed to several rifles due to the adjustments being in the base. It could be quickly removed from one rifle and put on another rifle to which it had been previously zeroed and it would again be zeroed to the rifle.0 -
The optics in B&L products are among the best ever made. 0 -
