Sharps 45cal
I was wondering if anyone could give me an estamate on a Sharps 45cal. rifle with a pat. date of Apr 6 1869. It has double triggers with and octgon barrel. brass front site and a stamp of freund&bro I will try to post pictures soon. Gun has no rust but dings in stock and forearm. Looks to be in real good shape. Was my grandfathers who was a collector. It was his prize gun.

For realistic identification and valuation, we would have to have see quality photos of the Sharps.
At this link are instructions for posting photos in the forum.

It all depends on condition and originality.
Pictures would be a big help, see the sticky on how to get them up.
A good sound Sharps rifle sold by Freund* would be worth a good deal. A Sharps rifle modified by Freund with one or more of their improvements might well be worth even more.
*Frank Freund and his brother George ran the Wyoming Armory in Cheyenne during the 1870s and 1880s. They sold guns and gear, worked on them, modified them, and even built a few of their own.0
