custom .300 savage
Has anyone known a gunsmith or otherwise that has been able to chamber a .300 savage round in a Remington Model 7.

lhess2190,
Any gunsmith should be able to do that. If the Model 7 will take a 308 Winchester round, ot will also a 300 Savage. The follower, action rails, and boltface might need to be modified, but there is no problem concerning length.

You probably won't even have to do much of anything to the bolt rails to get it to feed. The shoulder width is only .007" difference between the two. There isn't anywhere near as much case taper on the .300 as the .250-3000.
lhess2190,
I agree with tr. That's a very doable rebarrel. It'll give you everything a .308 will if you handload it.0 -
Why not get a .308 and load it down to 300 Sav. ballistics ? 0
