my buddy had one, had to send it back due to feeding jams. it always jammed about 3 times on one magazine
when he got it back, it did not jam, but it also could not put its shots in a 6" circle at 100 yds
it is now on the used rack at gander mountain

I think a dedicated ar upper (spike tactical or CZ) would be a better investment

I have two of them, not a single problem with either one. As long as you load the mag correctly, you will not have any jams. I have put a few thousand rounds thru mine and never a single hiccup. They are alot of fun to shoot, break down like a regula AR and are super easy to clean. Buy it, you won't be disappointed! As for accuracy, if you use quality ammo like CCI, you will get superb accuracy, if you use the bulk pack 550 round boxes, you will get less accuracy.

The Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22P, along with any Smith and Wesson M&P firearms are outstanding and I have not seen nor heard of any problems with them, no failures to feed, function or fire and have several and know others that do and they are very happy with them as well.
The Smith and Wesson M&P firearms quality is consistently superb, along with the reliability accuracy and fit and finish and mine have been moa right out of the box, although others may differ but I have found that is normally the shooter and not the firearm.

Spot on CS8161, and good points, .22LR's in semi autos tend to be finicky no matter what gun you shoot and crappy ammo is no exception and I agree with using CCI.
I personally like the CCI .22LR Velocitor, 40 grain HP heavy hitters at smoking speed and deadly accurate, they are really kick-ass, the Aguila .22LR Interceptor, 40 Grain SP are good as well.
A gun is only as good as the ammo that you use in it and the shooter behind it no matter what it is.

true, we did have less problems with cci's, but it still sucked. we must have got a bad one, as they were able to fix it. ar styling does not make up for 3-4 times the group size and less reliable than a 10-22 imho.

It can happen sometimes no matter what it is, whether its Colt, Sig, S&W, KAC, LWRC, DPMS, Armalite, etc. However there are alot of factors involved as well and ammunition usually plays heavily in most problems along with the use of proper magazines, loading, cleanliness, environment, etc.

yes, we all know. trust me, i used proper magazines, cleaning, loading and tried a variety of ammo. also tried optics and irons, didnt matter. ccis jammed about 1/2 as much but the example we had blew, even after they fixed the feeding problem. and judging by other forums, we were not alone

I've got some and never had any problems with them after 1000's of rounds or heard of any either and they have always functioned flawlessly.

I have the rifle, and have probably fired over 10K rounds through it, and it has been flawless. I have done more to improve my PB AR-15 handleing then years of centerfire practice.

I can go out and fire 2K rounds in a day without haveing spent a days worth of labor in money.
