SARD 6 x 42 navy binoculars
Hello all, new here and not a collector. A few years ago my wife found a pair of these field glasses at a yard sale. There is not much corrosion on it, but all of it seems to have obliterated much of the stock number and other info. Here is what I can get:
6 x 42 wide field
BU AERO US NAVY
MARK 4??
STOCK NUMBER. R8???-303
Product of Square D Company
Flushing NY.
They work well but the coating on the glass has been mostly worn off. I am an avid photographer and am comfortable with the glass, but any info on cleaning/preserving the other parts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any info!

shenandoah,
Right now the only thing I can tell you is "non-caustic" cleaner. That means diluted isopropyl alcohol to me. That, followed by remoisturizing any leather coverings. I use Bick 4. Others who've done some serious restoration may be of further help.0
