88 winchester : how to replace?
How do you replace the ejector on an 88 Winchester? I've done a 97 and M12 winchester but am by no means real handy. What am I looking for in part price. BTW this is a first year production 57xx and I fire it only occasionally. I could get by with it as a single shot. Thanks!

For $6.95 this book tells you everything about working on the Model 88.... GB # 189964606 0 -
DO YOU NEED AND 'EJECTOR' (KICKS THE SHELLS OUT OF THE RIFLE), OR THE 'EXTRACTOR' (PULLS THE SHELLS OUT OF THE CHANBER). I'VE NEVER SEEN AN 'EJECTOR' FAIL ON THE 88 (OR 100 EITHER), EXTRACTOR CAME IN 2 FLAVORS (EARLY AND LATE). 0 -
I have done it before, not that hard. follow the directions and you will need a slave pin. 0 -
Mike, I need the ejector. the case comes out of the chamber but does not eject. I had fired 100 rounds in the last 6 years and it always worked fine, the gun had hardly been fired when I got it. thanks to all for writing! Hickory 0 -
Hmmm. It sounds as if your rifle actually has not seen a lot of use. Have you tried cleaning the parts with brake cleaner? Most of us clean our weapons and then set them on the butt stock, upright. Oil can and will migrate down into the bolt, firing pin and spring, and other parts. Perhaps your bolt assembly is just gunked up with old lubricants. 0
