32 s&w and 32 long
Hi all
my question is, does anyone know if the 32 s&w can be used in the 32 long , not 32 long colt, but just plain 32 long?
Thanks Jimmy

Yes the .32 S&W(the short one) can safely be used in any revolver chambered for the .32 S&W Long. 0 -
32 Long S&W and 32Short S&W operate at the same chamber pressure so if it fits, shoot it. 0 -
adirondacktrain.....as noted above, you can shoot 32 S&W in 32 S&W long, but not in 32 Long. You can go here for a discussion on case diameters, bullet diameters, etc.:

The 32 Long was a rimfire round, the 32 Long Colt the centerfire version, both with heeled bullets. Eventually inside lubed bullets were used in the CF version, and you will find centerfire rifles marked simply "32 Long". Marlin and Marlin-Ballard made rifles with changeable or reversible firing pins that could shoot both.
Hope this helps,

Great information. Thanks for the input. It will be nice to shoot my old k frame s&w 32 long with the smaller 32 s&w rounds. 0
