BLR .308
I bought a 1973 BLR .308 that is in like new condition rarely shot. It came with several boxes of 180 gr. Federal that were purchased in 1994. I have experienced some hanging up in the chamber after firing. I don't think it is buldging cartridges but maybe something with the rim of the case. Any thoughts? Could the ammo be too much for the gun?

Would start by examining your brass, and by scrubbing the daylights out of the chamber with a chamber brush and powder solvent. You MAY be experiencing dried oil/grease etc in the chamber. Also clean the extractor, and be sure that it is free to move in its slot.
Unlikely that factory ammo would be "too much" for a good quality rifle.0 -
do NOT try to disassemble the rifle if you are not familure with the blr. there is a 'rack and pinion' gear assy. that controls headspace. short of a good cleaning leave this to your gunsmith. 0
