Remington 1100 28 ga
I recently bought a Remington 1100 LW 28 ga, 25" IC VR barrel in good shape. I have never owned a 1100, and I am not that excited about the 28 ga in general, but I want to make the gun work for me if possible. If there are any Remington experts out there I could use some educated help:
The serial number is M482---J; When was it manufactured?
Can I buy a newer Remington 1100 28 ga barrel with screw in chokes for a gun of this vintage? I am looking for a 26"-28" full choke barrel.
What is the approximate value of this gun?
Thanks in advance

If it's a older 1100, the site at this link might help you date it.

Many 1100's show up on the on-line gun auctions. Use actual selling prices to find a ball-park value for yours.0 -

Can't help you with the new barrel fit question. However can provide some recent price history as I bought one as you describe (25 inch VR IC) in 95% condition a couple months ago for $700. Too high I thought but the last one I found before that in same configuration, and didn't buy, was priced at $800. Shot a limit of dove with it last week on opening day. Enjoy. 0 -

The new barrels should fit ,but you can contact Remington to make sure .
They are really good about a helping hand .
If it turns out that it takes a "vintage" barrel you should contact Corson's Barrels .Google them.
They bought Remington's old stock when they went to screw in chokes .0
