Serno 249273 is a postwar commercial. This is the most common variation with over 200,000 produced and sold worldwide.
Your magazine should have solid sides (no slots to see the cartridges) and have a square floorplate that extends out from the base of the mag.
Hope you get it going.

Mine has slots on one side. The floorplate does extend out from the base of the mag. That part is held in place by the mag lock, if that's what you call it. I appreciate your effort. Thank you very much. The slide does seem to work smoother and easier since I put that Amzoil synthetic grease on it.

Finally got to shoot again and it still does not load correctly. It was mentioned to get a new spring for the magazine, but I can't see how the mag floor plate is removed. It appears to slide off, but sure doesn't do it readily. Also, I'm not too sure of the top of the mag, if it is too worn or out of original shape to handle the shells correctly.
As for the solid sides, I have found pics of these with 3 slots in one side like mine. Don't know what the deal is on that.
Hope ya all find this. [:I] Thanks.

Take a cleaning rod or tip of the next bullet and push in on the hole at the rear of the floor plate. If the button in the hole won't go in at first then you have to push either forwards or backwars to allow the release of the spring. -good luck!0 -
Thank you for the tip. I'll take a look and see what the deal is. I really like that little cracker jack. I hope I can get it to load correctly. I'm thinking a new magazine may be the only cure.
